Free boat ride to Portsmouth's city centre for arriving cruise passengers
Cruise passengers arriving at Portsmouth International Port will be offered the chance to sail straight to the UK city centre’s Gunwharf Quays shopping district on a free of charge boat trip.

The bespoke ride goes past the Royal Navy Dockyard, famous historic ships, to the iconic Emirates Spinnaker Tower.

Inspired by its new #portsmouthtakesyouthere campaign, the new service is free for port of call visitors, and will be run by operator Blue Funnel.

It is a joint project between Portsmouth International Port and Gunwharf Quays.

The first passengers to experience the new service will arrive onboard Viking Star on September 29. It is the first time that a ship from Viking Cruises has visited Portsmouth International Port.

All calls in 2018 will benefit from the boat trip.

Mike Sellers, port director at Portsmouth International Port said, ‘We want our cruise guests to experience our world famous landmarks and sights as soon as they arrive.’
