Robbie Vallon with a colleague. 'He was loved by all,' Bill Panoff said
Robbie Vallon, a popular, globe-trotting port shopping lecturer with the PPI Group who lived life with gusto, died June 9. He was 63.

'Robbie was loved by all,' said Bill Panoff, chairman & CEO of PPI Group. 'The first thing people noticed about Robbie was his smile. Always beaming from ear to ear, he greeted everyone, from old friends to complete strangers, with enthusiasm and warmth' and was 'quick with a joke and a laugh.'

Passionate storyteller

Vallon put his heart and soul into the things he felt passionate about, Panoff continued.

'He had a story about anything and everything and always spoke with an incredible passion that kept you wanting more. Fundamentally, he was a gentle soul that loved our cruise ship industry and life overall. PPI was incredibly fortunate to have him on our team and in our family.'

Vallon was born in Boston and spent his early life there, relocating to Miami in high school. He started working on cruise ships in the Hawaii circuit around 1987, as a bartender.

According to Panoff, Vallon saw everything as an opportunity and served as an inspiration and mentor to many in the cruise industry.

'His gratitude for life is perhaps the most powerful of all things we will remember him for,' Panoff said.
