Regal Princess passengers sailing to Scandinavia and Russia this summer can immerse themselves in the destinations thanks to local speakers who will come aboard to share their personal stories, local expertise and passion for the places they call home.

Princess Cruises' new 'Local Connections' program taps into the suggestions and creativity of the line's destination partners, in this case, Cruise Baltic.

'From a local journalist, ballerina, chef, musician and historian, these are just some of the vibrant personalities who will bring the memorable destinations of the Baltic to life for our guests,' said Bruce Krumrine, vp global shore excursions, Princess.

More than 70 speakers will join Regal Princess during this Baltic season.

They include Pia Allerslev, mayor of Copenhagen's children and youth administration and a member of the Copenhagen City Council for the Danish Liberal Party.

Maris Hellrand is a multilingual freelance journalist and consultant who tells engaging and enriching stories about Estonia to international audiences.

Russian ballerina Evgenia Brileva has a background that blends ballet, music, fine art and photography, all enriched and inspired by her city, St. Petersburg.

Ingreid Rudefors is a Swedish director, writer and film producer who works as a film commissioner in the Stockholm area. And German historian Sonya Antoni participates in the Potsdam City Council and the Foundation Prussian Parks & Palaces.
