Keynote speaker at NZCA 2018, Stuart Allison, svp Asia Pacific for Princess Cruises, said New Zealand attracts more repeat passengers than any other destination.
New overland excursions, exclusive tours
He said the company has significantly expanded its ‘Across the Ditch’ programme and will take passengers to places less travelled with the launch of two industry-first overland excursions in the North Island and more than 20 exclusive shore tours this summer.
He said under the cruise line’s global ‘Local Connections’ programme passengers will experience the destination through the eyes of local expert partners, visiting their favourite food, wine and art galleries in every New Zealand port.
A new overland excursion takes passengers to Great Barrier Island, one of only four International Dark Sky Sanctuaries in the world, for a stargazing experience.
Noted Maori chef Eru Tutaki
In the other new excursion passengers will join award-winning Maori chef Eru Tutaki in a forest near the port of Tauranga where he will harvest bush food and create a three-course degustation menu.
As an extension of the work already under way, Allison said Princess Cruises will explore opportunities to partner with organisations to help support New Zealand’s unique landscape and its culture.
The company’s new flagship, Majestic Princess, arrives in New Zealand in October.
