Travel agents in Sydney and other parts of Australia suffering near-record hot weather are cooling off with personal desk fans distributed by Princess Cruises’ representatives.

As Sydney heads for its hottest recorded summer, agents are plugging the fans, which display two messages, into their computers. When the fan is turned on ‘Princess Cruises’ and ‘Come Back New’ appear on the swirling blades in blue neon.

Flight Centre Raymond Terrace assistant team leader Samantha Ward-Leroy said the fan, which is like having your own punkah wallah, makes her feel like an Indian princess.

Ward-Leroy said what’s more, it is a great talking point with customers about Princess Cruises’ ‘3 for Free’ campaign offering free onboard spending money, free stateroom location upgrade and free wine & dine on selected voyages.
