Beginning this summer, Princess Cruises will provide a new immersive cultural experience on Caribbean sailings with regional cuisine, signature cocktails, theme parties and presentations from local experts like shark- and treasure-hunters.

The program is called 'Rhythm of the Caribbean,' which Princess Cruises' Rai Caluori, EVP guest experience and product development, said allows travelers to be inspired by the wonders of the Caribbean and instills a passion for discovering new cultures and destinations.

'Rhythm of the Caribbean' launches aboard Caribbean Princess in May and is scheduled to roll out to additional ships for the upcoming fall/winter Caribbean season.

Offerings include Caribbean Festival, presented in association with Princess Cruises' Festivals of the World and featuring themed parties, enriching activities and lively musical performances.

Parties will include dancing under the stars at the Terrace Pool Gold Party, inspired by the tales of treasure-laden pirate ships and sunken gold, and kids will get to dress, talk and dance like a pirate during a themed family party.

At 'Parrots in the Piazza,' local parrots and macaws can be seen up close in the ship’s Atrium.

An indoor planetarium experience with the line's Discovery at Sea program will show marvels of the Caribbean night sky. And travelers can meet real life treasure- and shipwreck-hunters on board as they share tales of their adventures exploring the Caribbean by boat, investigating legends of lost treasure and recovery operations. Shark diver Martin Graff will join select voyages.

Princess will be incorporating authentic island dishes like Jamaican jerk chicken, red snapper, creole black mussels, Puerto Rican mofongo, pineapple crème brulée and more. When it comes to libations, there will be rum punch, tropical coolers, coladas and mojitos. A regional rum tasting is planned, too.

Princess sails year-round to the Caribbean, with a variety of cruises round-trip from Port Everglades.
