Qingdao's futuristic cruise terminal
The east China port city of Qingdao is offering cruise passengers free or low ticket prices to popular tourist attractions.

Starting from March, Costa Cruises’ Costa Serena and Chinese Taishan, operated by Bohai Ferry, will sail 13 round-trip cruises from Qingdao to Japanese ports.

Deals are being offered to guests on pre- and post-cruise stays, or visiting the city, to popular tourist spots. Included are free tickets to the Taiqing and Jufeng sites in Mt Laoshan scenic area through to end April and discounted prices for visits between May 1 to the end of the year.

In addition, cruise visitors can get discounts on tickets for the Qingdao Beer Museum, Qingdao International Conference Center and Wine Museum.

Additional support

In 2018, Qingdao welcomed 71 cruise calls. Improvements are under way for the handling of both ships and passengers and late last year the city announced it would offer subsidies to cruise lines looking to homeport.
