This year's cruise numbers are expected to exceed 2017's record season
Citing the success of its first Cruise Month in 2017, Québec City is again hosting a month-long series of special events through Oct. 14. Each fall, Cruise Lines International Assocation promotes Cruise Month events held around the globe.

One of the world's top cruise ports

Québec’s Cruise Month celebrates continued growth of the region’s cruise industry. The Port of Québec—named one of the world's top three cruise ports in the Seatrade Cruise Awards 2018—had a record-breaking year in 2017 with a substantial increase in passengers, and numbers are expected to exceed those highs in 2018.

Cruise Month is a collaboration of the city government, tourism and port officials. A variety of events and activities are planned to showcase local businesses, arts and culture.

Maiden calls by Disney Magic and Star Pride

During this time, Disney Cruise Line and Windstar Cruises are making inaugural calls, as well. Windstar’s 212-passenger Star Pride is calling today, followed by the 2,713-passenger Disney Magic on Sept. 26, heralded by city-wide special festivities. Disney Magic will overnight in Québec and Star Pride is spending a full day in port, affording passengers ample time to experience the city and Cruise Month activities.

Activities include Passages Insolites, pop-up public art installations displayed throughout the Old Port district, Quartier Petit Champlain and Place Royale.

Journées de la Culture (Sept. 28-30) provides complimentary access to top museums and activities. All over the province, nearly 10,000 artists, craftspeople and organizations will offer free activities

Flavors Market in the Gardens of Québec City's Hotel de Ville (Sept. 27-30) highlights flavors of fall at the Marché des Saveurs in Old Québec and the gardens of the Town Hall. Visitors can meet local producers and try some Québec delicacies while taking a gourmet break. Visitors can lunch on German hot dogs and La Barberie microbrewery beer well as pretzels, cake and hot beverages at the German community booth, partaking in a workshop of DIY pumpkin carving or attending the theater of the Guignols.
