Queensland’s Gold Coast venue for South Pacific Tourism Exchange 2016

Queensland’s Gold Coast venue for South Pacific Tourism Exchange 2016
The South Pacific Tourism Exchange 2016 will be held May 20-21 on Queensland’s Gold Coast.

This follows the successful launch of SPTE 2014 in Auckland and this year’s event in Melbourne.

It is organised by the Suva-based South Pacific Tourism Organisation, the mandated body representing tourism in the region, whose 18 government members are American Samoa, Cook Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, Fiji, French Polynesia, Kiribati, Nauru, Marshall Islands, New Caledonia, Niue, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Timor Leste, Tonga, Tuvalu, Vanuatu and the People’s Republic of China.

In addition to its government members, the SPTO has around 200 private sector members.

The South Pacific Tourism Exchange is the region’s largest travel and tourism business-to-business event, bringing sellers and buyers together through pre-scheduled appointments and networking opportunities.

Next year’s trade mart is scheduled to piggyback on the 2016 Australian Tourism Exchange, also to be held on the Gold Coast.

‘We have gauged the plausible benefits of aligning the SPTE dates after ATE as we will be able to tap into the travel agents and media that attend Australia’s largest tourism exchange,’ SPTO chief executive Ilisoni Vuidreketi said.
