RCL's AirWaves helps UK agents book customized fly-cruise packages

A new technology platform is designed to help travel agents in the UK and Ireland book customized fly-cruise packages on Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises and Azamara Club Cruises with greater ease.

AirWaves eliminates the need to use multiple systems or processes when making bookings. The platform reduces the amount of time needed to book fly-cruises while enabling a tailor-made itinerary to be researched, refined and booked in four simple stages.

AirWaves can find flights from up to 30 regional UK and Ireland airports and gives access to published, private and low cost fares.

Other features include access to more than 2,500 four- and five-star hotels near ports, the ability to book transfers, choice between shared coach transfers or private cars, minibuses and limousines and the ability to provide 'travel package price' at the start of the booking journey.

The platform has been under research and development with key travel partners the past 12 months and will undergo wider testing with more than 350 agents starting in August.

AirWaves bookings are commissionable across the cost of the entire cruise holiday, including flights, hotels and transfers, and are fully protected via ATOL protection or ABTA bonding.

RCL Cruises Ltd. said it expects to see an increase in fly-cruise sales once AirWaves is on general release later this year.
