Seven Seas Explorer's sister is scheduled for first quarter 2020 delivery from Fincantieri's Sestri Ponente. The all-balcony-suite ship will have a gross tonnage of 55,254, and capacity for 750 passengers.
The company had solicited suggestions for names from travel agents, past passengers and employees in a sweepstakes held in September. Seven Seas Splendor was chosen among nearly 2,600 unique names from more than 14,000 submissions.
The sweepstakes winners, in a random draw of all the name suggestions submitted, were Bonnie Larson of Travel Perks, Nancy Goble, a bronze-level Seven Seas Society member, and Jackie Bush, a silver-level Seven Seas Society member.
Their prize is a free suite on Seven Seas Splendor's christening voyage.
'The extraordinary demand for Seven Seas Explorer has reinforced our decision to expand our fleet and Seven Seas Splendor will offer guests a fifth option that will provide unforgettable experiences in the world’s most compelling destinations, with the incredibly high standards of luxury and service that lure guests back again and again,' Regent president and CEO Jason Montague said.
