Portland Port recorded the first visit by two ships from the same cruise line on the same day when Regent Seven Seas Cruises’ Seven Seas Navigator and Seven Seas Explorer arrived on Sunday.

The ships were welcomed into Portland Harbour by the tug, Rufus Castle, spraying its water cannons.

A large proportion of the passengers booked to visit various places in Dorset, including the Dorset Seafood Festival in Weymouth.

Portland Port always provides a live music from local groups send off and three shots fired from the Nothe Fort Artillery Volunteer’s canon.

The Dorset Rock Choir performed as Seven Seas Navigator departed and Weymouth Concert Brass Band played for Seven Seas Navigator.

Portland Port is seeing a growth in luxury cruise ships calling with Oceania’s Marina, Seabourn Quest and Seven Seas Explorer having already visited this year.

The 2018 season started in April with the 20th visit by a Phoenix Reisen vessel, followed by a maiden call by Norwegian Breakaway – the largest ship to ever call at the South UK port.
