Twelve Chinese fishermen who were rescued last month by Costa Victoria from a burning vessel in the South China Sea met with the master and his team to officially thank them for spotting the troubled boat and getting them safely to shore.

A representative for the fishermen said, ‘On behalf of my crew and I, we would like to give our sincere thanks to Costa Victoria for taking action at such a crucial time for us and  saving our lives.  Your heroic instincts brought us here today.’

Paolo Viscafé the captain of Costa Victoria said: ‘Costa has continuously strived for the maritime safety as our top priority. As a responsible company, we feel a duty to devote ourselves to provide humanism assistance when we are needed. This time it occurred in the South China Sea, which is a part of the China market that we place great importance on.’

Next year sees three Costa ships deployed in the China market.
