New in 2017 are two 12-night cruise-tours exclusive to Royal Caribbean. The Kantishna Select Wilderness & Wildlife cruise-tour explores Denali’s wilderness with local experts. Participants will hike the Exit Glacier, go on a kayak and bike adventure at Eklutna Lake and travel by rail from the Denali National Park and Preserve to Fairbanks. The cruise-tour includes two nights of exclusive accommodations at a Kantishna backcountry lodge, nestled in an idyllic setting on the bend of a river.
The Katmai Bear Trek & Kantishna Fly Over cruise-tour offers the chance to see American brown bears hunting in their natural habitat with an extraordinary close and unobstructed view in the Katmai Park and Preserve. Cruise-tour participants will have two nights in Denali or Anchorage, before or after the cruise.
Alaska excursions, meanwhile, include the opportunity to ride a 1,320-foot zip line at Icy Strait Point or whale-watch in Stephen's Passage from Juneau. There's a floatplane adventure in Misty Fjords wildnerness from Ketchikan and, from Skagway, travelers can take a 4x4 trek through Tongass National Rainforest or visit Musher's Camp for a hands-on lesson in dog sledding. Attractions at Victoria, BC, include the 100-year-old Butchart Gardens, a National Historic Site.
