Royal Caribbean becomes the latest line to offer personalized experiences, such as an intimate wine tasting, via its new Private Journeys
Adding to Royal Caribbean International's close to 3,000 shore excursions worldwide, the company rolled out Private Journeys for travelers seeking a customized experience.

This concierge-style service will connect passengers with one of nine Destination Insiders to plan every detail of their shore experience before they set sail. Destination Insiders will design personalized activities, programs and adventures for individuals, couples, families and small groups.

Examples could be a behind-the-scenes visit to a Michelin-starred restaurant in Bruges, followed by a gourmet lunch; wandering through the Italian and French rivieras on a private yacht; seeing Alaska's Misty Fjords from a floatplane with a fireside meal of smoked salmon and Dungeness crab; or touring the German countryside in a vintage auto.

Private Journeys empowers travelers who seek more personalized and immersive destination experiences that can be intimately shared with family and friends, according to Roberta Jacoby, md Global Tour Operations, Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd.

Private Journeys bookings require a $100 deposit applicable to the final cost of the destination experience. To launch the concept, Royal Caribbean is waiving the deposit for Private Journeys booked before March 31.

A a Private Journeys request form must be submitted online at least 30 days before the sailing date.
