A Royal Caribbean spokesman told Seatrade Cruise News the ship was 'safe and seaworthy at all times' and the stop in Vigo was made in 'an abundance of caution.'
He added: 'We have now addressed the issue and received all necessary clearances and approvals to resume our itinerary safely and comfortably.'
According to an anonymous crew member's posting on the unaffiliated Crew Center website, a Code Bravo alert to the crew was sounded Saturday night after one of the stabilizers 'broke,' and the ship allegedly began taking on water. The crew member said a fire zone was closed and repairs were made within two hours.
Royal Caribbean did not answer if there was any truth to that report.
Navigator of the Seas is due to return to Southampton Nov. 5, as scheduled, the cruise line said.
