Saga cruises into new deal with Portsmouth International Port

Saga Pearl II will make 15 calls at Portsmouth International Port next year
Portsmouth International Port will play a big part in Saga’s cruise schedule for 2018, with a total of 15 visits planned for next year.      

Saga Pearl II will be based at the souterhn UK port between January and April, with eight cruises starting and ending at Portsmouth in the first four months of 2018.

Saga Pearl II will return in the autumn with another six turnaround calls between October and December.

The company’s Saga Sapphire also makes a return trip to Portsmouth International Port with a visit in June.

Mike Sellers, port director at Portsmouth International Port, said ‘This is a real vote of confidence by Saga in Portsmouth International Port, making us a key part of their plans for 2018.’

Saga’s first cruise from Portsmouth International Port in January 2018 will be a 17 night holiday that heads to Morocco and the Canaries.

James Langley, head of marine operations at Saga Cruises said about Portsmouth International port, ‘with their confirmed infrastructure development, and gangway modification, coupled with the ease of operations between ship and shore, the port is an obvious choice for Saga Pearl II.’

Portsmouth has booked a total of 40 cruise ship scalls and turnaround for 2018.
