Today Québec's Saguenay is marking its 10th anniversary as an international cruise port with festivities involving two visiting ships, and all the town is invited.

On Sept. 15, 2006, Holland America Line's Amsterdam became the first ship to dock at Saguenay, inaugurating the international cruise business there.

Today the festivities begin at noon and involve the captains of Zuiderdam and Norwegian Dawn plus the ships' 6,200 passengers and crew members.

Following a ceremony, an anniversary cake will be served while Latin singer Dominique Hudson performs at the port village agora. Hudson is known for the albums Danza and Danza 2 and many hits on the radio.

This week is extremely busy for Saguenay since five ships are calling in a two-day period. On Wednesday Europa 2, Seabourn Quest and Pearl Mist were in the Baie des Ha! Ha!
