Sandy Olsen returns to Carnival Australia

Sandy Olsen returns to Carnival Australia
Sandy Olsen, who left Carnival Australia as director corporate affairs four years ago, is returning next month as vp corporate affairs to support ceo Ann Sherry whose role has expanded as CLIA Southeast Asia chair.

The role addresses port facility requirements in Sydney and Brisbane to support cruise industry growth and its economic contribution of more than $3.2b annually.

'As cruising continues on a path of double digit annual growth with the landmark target of a million passengers to be achieved this year,  the sector is moving in exciting new directions, but challenges remain, such as infrastructure investment,'  Sherry said.

'It was clear that Sandy's unparalleled experience of cruising's transformation, its dramatic growth trajectory and its operational challenges made her the obvious choice to lead Carnival Australia's corporate affairs team.

'Her focus will also include cruise industry growth in Asia where significant growth in coming years will increasingly see Australia and Asia complementing each other as seasonal offset markets.'
