Scanship wins order for Hurtigruten newbuilds
Scanship has been awarded contracts to supply its total clean ship systems for the two polar-class expedition vessels to be built for Hurtigruten at Kleven Verft in Ulsteinvik, Norway. The scope of supply includes garbage handling, food waste processing and wastewater treatment with systems for collecting, transfer and purification.

'These Scanship clean tech systems will enable Hurtigruten to comply with the highest environmental discharge standards,' Scanship ceo Henrik Badin said.

Scanship will also deliver Jets vacuum solutions with toilets and black water collecting, confirming the cooperation between Jets Vacuum and Scanship in the cruise industry. The Scanship advanced wastewater purification will be certified per IMO Marpol MEPC 227(64) chapter 4.2 with nutrient removal to be enforced in special areas from 2020.

All equipment will be delivered in 2017 and 2018.
