Scanship wins order to supply a China newbuild

scanship backs
Scanship has been awarded a contract with a Chinese shipyard to deliver its advanced wastewater purification system for a medium-sized cruise ship that will enter service in 2021.

Scanship did not identify the yard or shipowner but said the owner currently plans to build up to six vessels in this new series. Two are firmly contracted and four are options.

A project that sounds similar is the recently reported Style Cruise Industry Development Co. order at China Merchants Heavy Industry.

The Scanship wastewater purification system will process all wastewater including sewage, accomodation gray water and galley water to meet the highest environmental regulations worldwide, and particularly the new regulations under IMO MARPOL MEPC 227(64) in the Baltic Sea special area, including nutrient removal.
