Scenic expands river offerings to the Mekong on a new ship
Scenic, the operator of all-inclusive luxury European river cruises, is expanding its geographic offerings into the heart of Southeast Asia with eight itineraries exploring the Mekong River destinations of Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos and Thailand.

Along the delta between Ho Chi Minh City and Siem Reap, passengers will see floating villages, verdant paddy fields and picturesque islands, as well as the 12th-century Angkor Wat and UNESCO World Heritage cities of Luang Prabang and Hoi An.

And, on the Irrawaddy River in Myanmar, sights include Buddhist temples like the gold- and diamond-encrusted Shwedagon Pagoda.

The new purpose-built ship, Scenic Spirit, provides 34 private balcony suites at sizes up to a very roomy 861 square feet. And Scenic Enrich immersion events and Freechoice activities are available.

Itineraries ranging from eight to 27 days are priced starting at US$2,445/CAD $2,645 per person, double occupancy, with special incentives ranging from a discount of CAD$700 to free flights from the US, depending on itinerary.

Details are laid out in Scenic’s new 2016 Southeast Asia brochure, available for viewing or ordering at www.scenic.ca or www.scenicusa.com.
