Scenic Jasper is named in Vienna
Australian author Kathy Lette named the Scenic Space-Ship Scenic Jasper, noted for its large suites, during festivities in Vienna. She joined Scenic chairman Glen Moroney and Karen Moroney at a ceremony attended by media and travel industry leaders from Australia, New Zealand and North America on Tuesday.

Representatives from the specialist river cruise shipyard Den Breejen and Austrian dignitaries and tourism officials were also on hand.

‘We are proud of the innovations we have made on Scenic Jasper,' Moroney said. 'We’ve taken what was already an exceptional design and are now able to offer our guests a real heightened sense of luxury with the largest suites on Europe’s rivers.'

The 11th vessel in the Scenic Space-Ship fleet, the 85-cabin ship has a heated vitality pool on the panoramic Sun Deck plus suites topped by the 475-square-foot Royal Panorama suites and the 360-square-foot Royal Suite, all with balconies.

Lette said that not only is river cruising the best way to see Europe, 'but this sleek new cruise ship is so luxurious it should be renamed the Scenic Palace. I’m also thrilled to unveil my leopard print skin mini-skirted figure head. Yes, I finally have prowess,' she quipped.

Scenic Opal will also be joining the fleet in June.

Five more Space-Ships are being built for launch in 2016. Scenic Amber will sail the Rhine, Main and Danube rivers; Scenic Azure will launch on Portugal’s Douro River, Scenic Spirit and Scenic Zen will explore the Mekong; and Scenic Explorer will cruise on Burma’s Irrawaddy River.
