The ship is in Naples where marine and technical staff are evaluating repairs, and SeaDream Yacht Club had no further updates on Tuesday.
The company said Thursday's fire in one of SeaDream I's engines was promptly extinguished, without injuries to passengers or crew. The incident occurred while the ship was en route from Dubrovnik to Civitavecchia (Rome), and SeaDream did not provide information about what caused the fire, which it described as 'small.'
Passengers were disembarked to a high-speed ferry for transport to Naples where motor coaches transferred them to Rome, where the cruise had been scheduled to end Saturday.
SeaDream provided hotel accommodations, meals and activities. Travelers with scheduled flights from Rome flew home as planned on Saturday, while others continued on their post-cruise vacations
The Sept. 3 voyage was canceled.
SeaDream I was built in 1984 as Sea Goddess I and extensively modernized in 2002. The 4,253gt yacht can carry 112 passengers.
