Carnival Spirit
Carnival Spirit is to return to Sydney as scheduled on April 7
On March 27 a male passenger went missing en route to Noumea during Carnival Spirit’s current 11-night South Pacific cruise from Sydney.

Carnival Australia said that a review of CCTV footage confirmed he had intentionally gone overboard.

Search ends

The 2,124-passenger ship turned to conduct a search which was subsequently suspended.

The call at Noumea on Saturday was cancelled and the itinerary has been revised, with Carnival Spirit returning to Sydney as scheduled on April 7.

Condolences to family

‘Our thoughts and prayers are with the guest’s family at this difficult time,’ the Carnival Australia statement said. ‘ We are providing close support to the guest’s travelling companion.’
