Search is on for an overboard Carnival passenger near Cuba
The US Coast Guard and Cuban search and rescue officials are looking for a man who reportedly went overboard from Carnival Victory in the early morning hours Wednesday.

Missing is Brandon Paul, 23, of Floral City, Florida, who reportedly went overboard from the eighth deck of the ship at approximately 3 a.m. Carnival Victory was 33 miles northwest of Pinar Del Rio, Cuba.

USCG said Carnival Victory launched a search boat and contacted watch standers at the Seventh Coast Guard District Command Center. USCG directed the launch of a Coast Guard Air Station Miami HC-144 Ocean Sentry airplane crew and diverted the Coast Guard Cutter Charles Sexton to search for Paul.

Cuban authorities also launched assets to assist in the search and as of Wednesday morning Carnival Victory continued to search on scene.
