Steve McCurry, Alain de Botton and Sophy Roberts are the three latest 'creatives' to join Silversea's 2019 world cruise. As 'Tale Tellers,' they will illustrate one of the nine segments of the Silver Whisper voyage, which is named 'The Tale of Tales.'

They join Paul Theroux, Pico Iyer and four other Tale Tellers who are yet to be announced.

Each will host a series of lectures and produce a literary journal or artwork inspired by the destinations they visit, to capture their experiences. This work will go into an anthology of the voyage.

'We hope our world-cruising guests enjoy the lectures and journals of our Tale Tellers as much as we have enjoyed curating the experience,' said Silversea's Barbara Muckermann, chief marketing officer.

Photographer McCurry's work spans conflicts, vanishing cultures, ancient traditions and contemporary culture, always retaining the human element that made his celebrated image of the 'Afghan Girl' for National Geographic such a powerful image. McCurry will travel between Tokyo and Singapore, capturing images to convey his experiences.

Alain de Botton is a widely published author whose literary works have been bestsellers in 30 countries. A philosopher, a TED speaker and the co-founder of the School of Life (an institution that guides learners through real-life issues), he is an accomplished writer who is sure to relay a compelling tale of his experience sailing between Mombasa and Cape Town.

Having written for numerous magazines and newspapers, including Conde Nast Traveler, The Wall Street Journal and the Financial Times, Sophy Roberts will bring a wealth of travel experience to Silver Whisper, especially from her work in Africa. Her stories focus on remote travel, conservation. She will travel between Cape Town and Lisbon.

The 2019 world cruise is scheduled to sail Jan. 6 from San Francisco and visit 31 countries across five continents over 132 days before reaching London (Greenwich) May 19.

Early booking fares start at $60,000.
