Silversea's new partnership with ORCA, one of the UK’s leading marine conservation charities, will benefit travelers and support marine conservation.

Passengers will be able to contribute to ORCA’s work by helping collect sightings data of whales, dolphins and porpoises. In addition, ORCA conservationists will travel on select voyages to guide travelers in the data collection, complementing Silversea's enrichment program.

ORCA has championed marine conservation for more than 15 years and its mission is to give everyone who cares about whales and dolphins an active role in safeguarding their future.

'We strongly believe when guests travel with Silversea they become ambassadors for both the destinations and wildlife across the globe,' said Mark Conroy, Silversea's managing director for the Americas, in welcoming the partnership.

For her part, Lucy Babey, ORCA head of science & conservation, said this new program will help 'shine a light on some of the most diverse and beautiful marine spaces on the planet, making a significant impact in protecting the wonderful whales, dolphins and porpoises in our oceans.'

Conservationists from ORCA will travel on Silver Explorer's May 2 voyage from San Diego, California, to Vancouver, BC, and the ship's May 13 cruise from Vancouver to San Francisco.

They'll also be aboard Silver Muse voyages from Tokyo to Seward, Alaska, departing May 12, and from from Seward to Vancouver, sailing May 27.
