New for 2018, Danish port of Skagen has added canoeing and horseback riding tours due to increasing demand from passengers seeking active shorex options.

‘Skagen is truly a biker’s paradise with the even and beautiful landscape and safe surroundings,’ notes Anne Sofie Rønne, cruise manager of Cruise Skagen, who will be attending this year’s Seatrade Cruise Global at the Port of Denmark and Sweden booth no. 1421.

The cruise ships calling at Skagen are selling more and more bike tours and increasing numbers of independent cruise guests are exploring Skagen on bicycles notes Rønne.

42 ships carrying up to 68,500 guests are expected to call at Skagen in 2018.

‘An increase of more than 100% compared to 2017, when 33,000 cruise visitors on 31 ships arrived at the port,’ said Willy Bent Hansen, ceo Port of Skagen.

11 maiden calls are scheduled this year, among them ships from Princess Cruises and Viking Cruises; two cruise lines that are quite new to Skagen, remarked Rønne.
