The line also plans to launch its new website Sept. 12, and it will offer direct booking along with features such as Quick Booking and Online Room Selection.
In the past when passengers made purchases aboard SkySea Golden Era, they needed to link a credit card to their room card or pay a fixed deposit. The implementation of Alipay will provide more flexibiilty and convenience.
Passengers will be able to use Alipay on their mobile device for purchases across most of the ship, including at the service center, restaurants, bars and duty-free shops. Users will be able to instantly see their daily expenses.
Users will not have to connect to the paid Internet to use Alipay, however those who use the ship's Wi-Fi will have a higher payment limit.
'We will continue to place enhancing the guest experience at the forefront, constantly improve the quality of products and services, and further build SkySea as the preferred international cruise brand for Chinese tourists,' said Ken Muskat, CEO of SkySea Cruise Line.
