SkySea Cruise Line has just made improvements to its mobile application and greatly enhanced its Wi-Fi experience.

To improve Wi-Fi, the company worked with its provider to significantly increase bandwidth while reducing charges, creating one of cruising's most competitive plans.

'We anticipate this will drive far greater overall utilization amongst all of our guests and crew so they can share their SkySea Cruise Line vacation experience with the world in real time,' SkySea ceo Ken Muskat said in an email.

As for the app, single sign-on now means passengers need register only one time to access both the app and Wi-Fi. When they pre-purchase a new Wi-Fi package pre-cruise, it will automatically appear on their app once they embark SkySea Golden Era. With the push of a button, they can begin using the Internet.

The app—one of the most advanced at sea, according to Muskat—allows users to communicate with friends and family on board (including by voice), reserve specialty dining through the phone function, view daily activities and special events, build a personal calendar and check accounts.

Group leaders can use the app to push messages to their entire party, reminding them of activities, cocktail parties and other events.

Push messaging also informs passengers about retail promotions and special events, reminds them of time changes and communicates other important news.

Plus, a Lucky Draw Game is available to play three times a day with prizes such as food and beverage vouchers, a free massage or even the chance to win a free future cruise.
