The package includes a visit to the famous Barossa Valley
A nine-day ‘highlights of South Australia’ escorted tour that includes three nights on Kangaroo Island, a four-day cruise along the Murray River and visits to the State’s finest wine regions, with complimentary pick-up and drop-off at selected hotels in Adelaide, has been released by SeaLink Travel Group.

On March 24, 2017, a coach takes passengers from Adelaide to Cape Jervis on the tip of the Fleurieu Peninsula where they join a SeaLink ferry to Penneshaw on Kangaroo Island.

They will spend three nights in sea-view rooms at Kangaroo Island Seaside Inn on the esplanade in Kingscote where, according to Lonely Planet, they will find the best seafood anyone is ever likely to taste.

There will be a guided walk through a colony of wild Australian sea lions and visits to a sheep dairy, a cheese factory and a Ligurian bee farm for a taste of honeycomb ice-cream. Other outings include a visit to Bay of Shoals Winery and Kangaroo Island Spirits, a ‘moonshiner’ that  makes gin with native juniper berries.

Then it’s a ferry ride back to the mainland to take a coach to Mannum to join the paddlesteamer Murray Princess for a four-day cruise to Blanchetown. Along the way there will be visits to an Aboriginal reserve, a native wildlife shelter and an Australian Woolshed Show.

On disembarkation passengers head for the Barossa, with morning tea at the Jacobs Creek Visitor Centre and a tour of the historic town of Tanunda before heading for the Clare Valley and an overnight at the Clare Country Club.

On the final day passengers will visit Sevenhill Cellars, the first winery established in the Clare Valley before returning by coach to Adelaide.
