Princess Cays, open since 1992, spreads across approximately 40 acres, including more than a mile and a half of white sand beaches, and is a featured call on eastern and western Caribbean itineraries.
'With new and improved island offerings and the addition of MedallionNet Wi-Fi ashore, guests enjoy a memorable beach experience and can easily share their adventures with friends and family back home or stream their favorite show or sports event while relaxing beachside,' Princess president Jan Swartz said.
Additional enhancements include new shore excursions, refurbished retail and bar areas, lusher landscaping and improved infrastructure.
Princess has just introduced its new Lagoon Clear-Bottom Kayaking Adventure. In addition, Island Bicycle Adventure offers scenery and history with a leisurely bike ride to some of the area’s popular sites. Construction of a new 'Davy Jones' water sports rental equipment provides snorkeling and water gear.
And a new Stingray Beach Encounter allows participants to feed, touch and hold live stingrays as animal trainers share facts about the behavior of these animals.
Mementos can be purchased at the new nautical-themed 'pick-a-pearl' jewelry section within the Bahama Treasure store.
An expanded marina, including new channel and turning basin depth to accommodate larger tenders and smoother disembarkation and embarkation, has a shaded security pre-clearance area.
Other improvements are a new information booth with shaded waiting lounge and a new public announcement and music system, newly painted structures inside and out with tropical pastel colors and a guest services station for towel and water distributions at the Welcome Center. Plus, extensive landscaping, including additional planters and newly planted palm trees, added a lush look, and beach bungalows were refitted.
