St Petersburg holds two-day event focussing on cruise and ferry tourism
Development of Cruise Tourism, Focus on St. Petersburg is a two-day event starting Wednesday in the Russian sea port.

Saint Petersburg  Committee for Tourism Development  in association with Saint Petersburg Express Ltd and North-Western Division of Russian Union of Travel Industry is holding the event in the congress center PetroCongress.

Speakers will summarise the past season which saw St Petersburg handle 240 cruise calls and 482,780 passengers and main prospects for the cruise industry in 2015.

The plenary session will also discuss state support of the cruise tourism and future urban projects in the transport sector.

During the second part of the programme, representatives from companies providing services to cruise tourists in St. Petersburg, including the leading museums will discuss aspects of their activity, new products and programmes, and new opportunities to develop the market in a changing business environment in Russia and abroad.

The final session will include a tour of the Marine Facade passenger terminal and port and a roundtable where experts will discuss the development of cruise and ferry traffic in the Baltic Sea and new ways of tourism promotion. Viking Line’s Elena Kovero, sales manager for Russia and the Baltic States will join the panels.
