Far-flung influences
Taking influence from both sides of the Atlantic, Cunard’s chefs curated a menu showcasing Prime USDA grain finished New York strip steak, Maine lobster and Alaskan king crab, alongside dishes with British provenance such as Scotch grass-fed, dry aged beef and Salt Marsh lamb rack. Offerings from farther afield such as Waygu beef from Australia are also featured on the menu.
'After the success of the new steak house menu on board Queen Mary 2 last summer, our team has decided to take the concept across the fleet,' said Josh Leibowitz, SVP Cunard North America.
Craft cocktails, curated wine selection
In addition, a new selection of craft cocktails will be available at The Verandah bar, reflecting contemporary mixology trends from some of the world’s most dynamic cities. The wine selection has also been chosen to focus on ‘steak heroes’ and features classic peppery syrahs alongside more contemporary juicy malbecs and rich chardonnays.
$25 for lunch, $39 for dinner
Steakhouse at The Verandah will be open for lunch and dinner for a per person cost of $25 for lunch and $39 for dinner, with some menu offerings requiring a further supplement. For example, Waygu beef costs $30 extra and adding 'surf' (two giant tiger prawns flambéed in garlic and cognac butter) to the 'turf' carries a $10 supplement.
Dinner reservations are pre-bookable on Cunard’s Voyage Personaliser or on board, and lunch reservations are available on board.
Steakhouse at The Verandah is open on sea days from noon to 1:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
