Kuala Lumpur - more than 30m inbound travelers expected in 2017
SuperStar Libra’s new deployment starting Sept. 3 features triple homeports in Kuala Lumpur via Port Klang and Penang in Malaysia, as well as in Phuket, Thailand, with two cruises per week.

These include the three-night Kuala Lumpur (via Port Klang)-Phuket-Penang cruise and the four-night Kuala Lumpur (via Port Klang)-Langkawi-Phuket-Penang cruise.

With the introduction of Star Cruises’ multiple homeports and fly-cruise options, travelers in Southeast Asia will have more flexibility and easy access to take a cruise from three well-connected key cities, especially Kuala Lumpur, a major aviation hub in Asia.

'Star Cruises is optimistic this will grow our source markets in Southeast Asia, allowing guests more access to multiple homeports and concurrently developing and stimulating the growth of the cruise tourism sector across borders through fly-cruise options,' Star Cruises president Ang Moo Lim said.

Previously Penang was the sole homeport for SuperStar Libra in Malaysia. Now domestic and international passengers have the choice of embarking at historically rich Penang or the modern, bustling Kuala Lumpur via the ship's new main homeport in Port Klang. Kuala Lumpur remains one the key gateways to Malaysia and the Southeast Asian region with more than 30m inbound travelers expected in 2017.

In Thailand, Phuket is also a renowned destination for many international tourists and Star Cruises is now opening options for travelers from the island, both domestic and fly-cruise, to sail aboard SuperStar Libra.
