Sydney Opera House joins Cruise Down Under

Sydney Opera House joins Cruise Down Under
On the eve of its 2015 annual conference in Darwin September 2-4, Cruise Down Under has announced four new members, including the Sydney Opera House.

Opened by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth 11 in 1973 and given UNESCO World Heritage Listing in 2007, the Sydney Opera House is the city’s foremost tourist attraction, with more than 8.2m visitors a year.

Seasoned cruisers say that sailing past the Sydney Opera House and the Sydney Harbour Bridge is one of the world’s great travel experiences. Cruise lines offer shore excursions to both attractions.

CDU ceo Jill Abel said the other three new members are Western Australia’s Pilbara Ports Authority, southern Great Barrier Reef regional tourism agency Gladstone Area Promotion and Development and Perth-based coach operator Adams Coach Lines and Tours.

Abel said CDU’s overall membership is now 78.
