Tarragona growing in stature

Tarragona growing in stature
After three years of concerted marketing efforts to attract more cruise ships, Tarragona on Spain’s Meditearranean coast is set to welcome 11 ships and 10,000 passengers this year, which is a significant increase compared to last year.

Thomson Dream visited Tarragona for the second time this season on August 7. The ship moored at the cruise terminal located on Levante dock, with 1,610 passengers on-board.

The passengers visited the UNESCO-listed city of Tarragona, Montblanc and Poblet; the art nouveau route of Reus; Barcelona and PortAventura, one of Europe’s leading theme parks.

At midday, passengers were invited to Vermouth tasting on the quayside and were treated to a display of Castells (human towers) by a local troupe during departure.
