Nov. 29 update: Silver Cloud has received a missing spare part and is currently on its way to Ushuaia where passengers are expected to embark for the next cruise on Dec. 1. Silver Cloud is undergoing repairs in Puerto Madryn, Argentina, after a mechanical failure cut short the ship's first expedition voyage to Antarctica.

Silversea Cruises said repairs are on schedule and the Dec. 1 departure from Ushuaia is expected to operate as planned.

Silver Cloud had just embarked from Buenos Aires on its first expedition sailing to Antarctica following a $40m refit and conversion when it experienced the technical issue on Nov. 21.

The ship safely returned to Puerto Madryn for repairs, and all passengers were repatriated.
