Seatrade Cruise Review - the official print publication of Seatrade Cruise Global, leads with a cover story profile of MSC Cruises' Pierfrancesco Vago
Seatrade Cruise Global, the world's largest cruise industry gathering, kicks off Monday in Fort Lauderdale.

The event brings together buyers and suppliers for a four-day conference and a three-day exhibition that annually draw more than 10,000 registered attendees, over 700 exhibiting companies from more than 90 countries and hundreds of international media.

In addition to the exhibition, this week a who's who of the cruise world will participate in conferences on a wide range of topics, from the high-profile State of the Global Cruise Industry address Tuesday morning to specialized panels newbuilding and refurbishments, design and interiors, technology, destinations, guest experience, marketing, harnessing big data, cyber-security, expedition cruising, the Polar Code, and safety/security, environmental and public health issues—to name a few.

'With the orderbook at record of more than $50bn, this is the biggest era in the cruise industry. It means more supplier opportunities and more port and destination opportunities. We are in the dawn of an opportunistic era,' said Andrew Williams, gm Seatrade Cruise portfolio at UBM.

'We're delighted that Seatrade Cruise Global and Seatrade cruise publications are the industry's platform,' Williams added.

The latest edition of Seatrade Cruise Review, Seatrade Cruise Global's official print publication, debuts this week, with a cover story profile on how Pierfrancesco Vago is driving the growth of MSC Cruises with a €9bn investment plan that includes three prototype ship designs and newbuild orders, counting options, stretching into 2026.

The March issue also features expert analysis of the cruise ship orderbook, tells why Carnival Corp. & plc's Ocean Medallion Class is making a big splash, offers extensive reports on US East Coast ports, the UK and Ireland, Italy, Germany, Australasia, Asia and more.

With this issue of the magazine, Seatrade has reduced the carbon impact of its printing by using 100% recycled paper, according to editor Mary Bond, who noted the cover is prepared using water-based aqueous seal, so there is very little chemical waste. This a much more eco-friendly option than the previously used laminate, she said.

Seatrade Cruise Global is presented in partnership with Cruise Lines International Association and the Florida-Caribbean Cruise Association, March 13-16 at the Fort Lauderdale/Broward County Convention Center.
