Timed to Art Basel, a major date on Miami's calendar, MSC Cruises unveiled a temporary art installation featuring a decorated MSC container at an event Tuesday night.

The unveiling—at Mana Contemporary, Wynwood, during Ocean Drive Magazine’s annual 'The Art of the Party' event—is among the celebrations heralding the arrival of MSC Seaside. The ship is currently making its way across the Atlantic and is scheduled to arrive at PortMiami on Dec. 21.

Celebrity Paris Hilton joined MSC Cruises executive chairman Pierfrancesco Vago and MSC Cruises USA president Roberto Fusaro, among others, at the party.

The shipping container pays homage to Miami and was turned into an artpiece in collaboration with New World School of the Arts and the university’s artist-alumni Michelle Vazquez, Rachel Lee and Cindy Becerra, under the guidance of associate professor senior Aramis O’Reilly and dean of the visual arts department Maggy Cuesta. The installation will remain on display at Mana Contemporary, Wynwood through Dec. 10.

Later the container will be displayed during MSC Seaside’s naming ceremony at PortMiami. Godmother Sophia Loren will do the honors on Dec. 21.
