Led by former Thomson Cruises md David Selby, Travelyields is again involved in the CLIA Ports and Destinations Summit taking place during the week of Seatrade Cruise Med 2016, engaged to deliver a newly created roleplay simulation exercise, following on from the Hamburg event.
Called 'Deployment Dilemmas' this one is more strategic and has the elements of ticket pricing, variable fuel types, the environment, port restrictions, operating costs and ancillary revenues, informs Selby.
'Over the years, I have been lucky enough to work with really super people and I have learnt so much along the journey myself. A mix of retained business and specific projects has provided real variety and I am of course particularly pleased and grateful to those partners who have been with me for some time,' he added.
Selby has another mission during September as every day, including during the Tenerife event, he plans to be walking/running/jumping at least 10,000 paces to raise money for Cancer Research through its “Walk all over Cancer” campaign. 'This means that I will be pounding the convention floor all day every day during the exhibition, as well as getting up early to run the streets. I’m quite looking forward to it!'
