Mein Schiff 2 hoists the rainbow flag on its April 29, 2017 sailing
TUI Cruises scheduled what it's touting as the first German-language cruise targeted at lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender travelers and their friends. The eight-day 'Rainbow Cruise' on Mein Schiff 2 will travel from Palma de Mallorca to Barcelona, La Seyne, Ajaccio, Civitavecchia, Salerno and Valletta. Sailing date is April 29, 2017.

On-board entertainment will feature musicians, comedians and other artists popular among the LGBT community, including the DJs WestBam and Rony Golding. During an overnight stay at Barcelona, a program will be organised in cooperation with SEXY Party Cologne, an operator specialised in arranging events for gay audiences. There will be appearances by DJs and dancers, with further details to come.

CEO Wybcke Meier said TUI Cruises already counts many gay and lesbian travelers among its loyal customers and the line wants to make a mark in favor of diversity.

'Premium All Inclusive' fares for the 'Rainbow Cruise' start at €1,188 per person in an inside double cabin, and €1,543 in an ocean-view room.
