UK sales expansion for Star Clippers

UK sales expansion for Star Clippers
Star Clippers UK has appointed Alison Jared as new regional sales manager to develop and manage trade relationships in the North of England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Eire. She takes up her role in early September.

UK general manager for Star Clippers, Fay McCormack, said 'Star Clippers’ sales growth in the UK has been phenomenal, particularly over the last six or seven years. This is now being driven by the move away from massive cruise ships and resultant demand for more intimate cruise experiences, as well as by some of the very exotic locations that the Clippers now sail in.

'This winter season,' she continued, 'we are returning to Asia, with north and southbound sailings in Thailand and Malaysia, we have a third season in Cuba with the opportunity to stay on board for a night in Havana and Cienfuegos, and in 2016 Star Clippers will start an inaugural sailing in Indonesian waters. Jared's appointment will help agents in the north of England, Scotland and Ireland to gain a better understanding of the product and destinations and further expand sales.'

Jared will report to Danielle Dudley, UK sales manager. She has worked in travel for the past 20 years, having started with Bridge Travel as a sales representative. In 2011, she began her career in cruising as national sales manager for Thomson Cruises.
