Crew aboard the Coast Guard Cutter Chock enforce a security zone for the presidential Inauguration
US Coast Guard units and other partner agencies are providing waterside security for the US presidential inauguration.

Donald Trump is scheduled to be sworn in as the 45th president on Friday.

Crews from Coast Guard Maritime Safety and Security Teams New York and San Diego and Coast Guard Cutters Chock and Heron are working with crews from federal, state and local law enforcement agencies as part of a comprehensive port security operation to protect people and waterways around the District of Columbia.

A temporary security zone has been established in designated waters of the US capital, effective through Jan. 24. This includes specific areas of the Potomac and Anacostia rivers.
