USCG sets public meeting on proposed cruise terminal security rules
The US Coast Guard scheduled a public meeting Feb. 9 in Fort Lauderdale to hear comments on its proposed cruise ship terminal security rulemaking.

USCG is proposing to amend regulations on cruise terminal security by providing detailed, flexible requirements for the screening of all baggage, personal items and people—including passengers, crew and visitors. The proposed regulations, published Dec. 10 in the Federal Register, would standardize the security requirements and eliminate redundancies in current regulations.

The Feb. 9 meeting is scheduled from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Port Everglades' Cruise Terminal 19.

Written comments on the proposed rulemaking are due by March 10.
