Chao López graduated as a road, channel and port engineer from the University of A Coruña and holds a degree in law from Universitat Oberta de Catalunya.
She speaks English, French, Galician and Portuguese and currently teaches Masters in Logistics and Transport at the University of A Coruña.
Chao López has vast experience of working in logistics in both the Spanish public and private sectors and has held senior roles in the ports sector, as head of service provision at Port Authority of A Coruña and head of port operations at Port of Vigo.
Between 2006-2009, Chao was ceo of transport of the Galicia region and advisor to the Port Authority of Ferrol.
MedCruise member Valencia currently has four berths for handling cruise ships with lengths ranging from 219 to 395mtr and is planning the construction of a new cruise terminal that will allow the simultaneous berthing of two cruise ships of up to 4,000 passengers each. PAV forecasts around 430,000 cruise passengers this year.
