Vantage Travel launches in the UK with a new six-star river cruise ship
For the first time since Vantage Travel launched in the United States, initially packaging long-haul tours for groups and then holidays and cruises to the general public in 1985, the company is bringing its broad product range to UK guests, available to book direct online and via travel agents throughout the UK.

In March, Vantage Travel launches its first six-star river cruise ship, River Voyager, which joins the existing four 5-star vessels in the fleet, including the newly refurbished River Navigator, River Venture, River Splendor and River Discovery II.

In addition to offering European river cruise itineraries on five ships, the company offers small ship cruises, worldwide land tours and special interest holidays, such as art, culinary, golf, religion, wine and history, to 80 countries on seven continents.

In line with the four existing vessels in the fleet, the new jazz-themed River Voyager (with suites named after Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald or Dizzy Gillespie and a new Blue Note lounge) offers intimate cruising, with now more than 176 guests on board and staff to guest ratio 'better than 1:4'.

A first for Vantage Travel’s newest ship is the Cotton Club Lounge, where healthy spa cuisine and lighter menu choices are served buffet style. The lounge is located at the aft of the ship with floor to ceiling windows and retractable glass providing an alfresco experience in clement weather.

The Bourbon Street Bistro dining room has free seating, Villeroy & Boch dinnerware and silverware and fresh flowers.

Solo travellers have the choice of reserving a single cabin or a choice of two different matching programmes, sharing with other solo travellers.

Clare Dudley, from cruise specialist Ponder’s Travel said, 'In the past five years or so river cruising has really taken off in the UK. River cruise lines have introduced new and increasingly stylish ships, vying for the top facilities and service, and this has reflected in the price.' She believes, 'a Vantage Cruise will find a ready market in the UK, helping to keep prices affordable without compromising service, style and facilities.'
