Veteran sales executive Alex Pinelo is retiring from Norwegian

Alex Pinelo - spent entire cruise career with Norwegian, apart from four-year stint at Disney
Alex Pinelo, who's been with Norwegian Cruise Line in a variety of mostly sales roles for 28 years, is retiring at year's end. He has been vp key accounts for the past two years.

Apart from almost four years with Disney Cruise Line at its inception, Pinelo has been a Norwegian man throughout his cruise career.

Camille Olivere, who recently rejoined Norwegian as svp sales, will head the sales business moving forward. (Nathan Hickman continues as vp field sales.)

Before key accounts, Pinelo held a variety of senior sales positions, including vp national accounts and vp national accounts and meetings, incentives, charters and events. Earlier roles included director of national accounts, national director of online and strategic accounts, national director of online travel agencies and national director of channel business development.

Pinelo began his career with Norwegian in passenger services in 1984, and he worked shipboard and shoreside in the early years, including as shore excursion manager and assistant cruise director. His first sales job, inside sales representative, came in 1991. Then he moved up to district sales manager.

Disney got Pinelo on board for its start-up cruise team in 1996, as district sales manager.

He returned to Norwegian in 2000.
