An infographic featuring Voyages to Antiquity’s longest ever cruise of 129 days duration shows the variety and scale of the winter 2018/19 sailing.
A first for Voyages to Antiquity
This extended cruise will span out all five of the company’s winter itineraries and is a first for the UK-based cruise line, taking passengers on Aegean Odyssey to over 40 ports in 22 countries.
VTA’s winter programme begins in Athens on December 9, 2018 and features Middle East, India, Sri Lanka, Burma, Thailand, Singapore, the Seychelles, the Maldives and Reunion Island, South and West Africa.
Jos Dewing, managing director, commented: ‘We were unsure how popular such a long cruise would be when we launched the programme but over 15% of the passengers who have booked our first winter cruise, Athens to Mumbai, will in fact be staying on-board for the entire voyage.
‘We took a gamble on longer voyages for this programme as standard but to see such numbers on the full cruise is exciting, it will be a truly epic adventure and is well captured and illustrated by this fun infographic,’ he added.
Prices for the Grand Odyssey start from £21,150 per person, including return flights, 56 included guided tours, 12 hotel stays, all meals and wine with dinner, all on-board gratuities and onboard enrichment programme, with lectures from expert guest speakers.
UNESCO World Heritage Sites
Many ports-of-call such as in Egypt, Morocco and South Africa also include overland experiences to UNESCO World Heritage Sites like Karnak and the Taj Mahal as part of the price.
The Grand Odyssey ends on April 13, 2019 in Malaga, but an option of returning to Athens to complete the entire winter programme is also available, boosting the cruise up to 140-days of continuous travel.
